Stoughton Game

It was a black mood for the Black Nights as Foxboro arrived in Stoughton for this Davenport division match-up.  The unbeaten Stoughton football team had just finished attending the funeral of fallen teammate, David Wade, earlier in the day.  During the game and halftime, many tributes to David were delivered by a heartsick community.  The Foxboro Touchtown Club and Cheerleaders were moved by the occasion as well and donated $250.00 to the David Wade Memorial Fund during halftime.

It was a great football game.  Unfortunately Foxboro was shut out and the final score was Stoughton 20, Foxboro 0.  The Black Knights were moved by strong emotions as they went on to "Win this for Dave".  The Foxboro Warriors worked hard and definitely had their chances during the game.  they had eight drives and seven of those reached Stoughton territory but none made it into the end zone.  Stoughton's defense sure did bend but they didn't break.

During the game, on a quarterback keeper, senior Mike Slaby got crushed and ended up flat on his back.  It was a scary moment - definitely was concussed.  Sophmore Nolan Rogers stepped in nicely to finish the game.  Hopefully next week, the Blue & Gold will rebound.
